Ready to compare.
Exact-text similarity measures matching comparison units after selected normalization. It does not measure meaning, originality, or plagiarism.
Paste an original version and an edited version, choose the comparison mode that fits the job, and select Compare Texts. A writing revision can be reviewed by word, a Markdown update by line, and a punctuation correction by character.
Added, Removed, and Modified labels accompany every change so the result does not rely on color alone. Side-by-side view aligns the two versions, Unified view works well on smaller screens, Inline view keeps a revision readable, and Changes list helps you step through individual blocks.
Line mode is the general default for revisions, code, and structured text. Word mode is useful for paragraphs, emails, and product descriptions. Character mode is intentionally narrow: use it for spelling, punctuation, smart quotes, and small wording changes.
Ignore outer spaces, repeated spaces, punctuation, or capitalization only when those differences are not meaningful to the review. Unicode, smart-quote, dash, and line-ending options compare normalized keys without rewriting the text you pasted.
The similarity percentage measures exact lexical overlap after your selected options. It cannot determine meaning, authorship, originality, copyright, or plagiarism. A high percentage is not evidence that text is original, and a low percentage is not a legal or editorial conclusion.
Review two versions of an email, an edited policy, Markdown content, product descriptions, code snippets, configuration text, two AI outputs, or multilingual text. For contracts or business text, use the result as a review aid and obtain professional legal review where needed.
The comparison runs locally in your browser and does not upload your text. Clear Both removes the current in-page comparison; refreshing or closing the page also clears it unless you download an export. This lightweight tool is not a replacement for version control, grammar checking, semantic analysis, or large-project code review.
